Lake Magadi

Lake Magadi is purely alkaline lake which sometimes crystallizes into solid rock!!the lake is located in the southern Rift Valley and connected with a good tarmac road.It is a preferred destination for day trip birding if you are attending business conference in Nairobi. It is a super birding route and you easily record over 100 species. A drive over the majestic Ngong hills escarpment will provide species like the Lyner’s Cisticola and Short-tailed Lark on the base of the escarpment. Other than those species, Lake Magadi is the only place in Kenya where you can easily view the beautiful Chestnut-banded Plover, Cut-Throat, Blue-capped Cordonbleu, Northen Crombec, Banded Parisoma, White-bellied Canary, Crimson-rumped Waxbill, Grey Wren Warbler, Taita Fiscal, Von der Decken’s Hornbill, Fischer’s Sparrow-Lark, Grey-headed Silverbill, Grey-capped Social-Weaver, Red-fronted Tinkerbird, Straw-tailed Whydah.
A day trip to this birding hot spot can be organized by me at your request.
